Things change hands

Back in October, I went on a trip to Stowe, in Vermont. I bought some yarn from a very nice lady in a wee little yarn shop. She had spun and dyed the yarn herself, which is just the way I like it. I made some loooooong cabled mitts out of this yarn for Melissa. Then I gave them to her.

A few days later, Melissa went shopping at a thrift store not far away, and found the pale green teapot I've been waiting to come into my life.

Do you get what I mean? I have been wanting a pale green teapot for years. For. Years. And I have been waiting to find the right one. Every now and then I will look for it online, maybe on Etsy, maybe on a few other crafty sites that might be concealing the pale green teapot that belongs to me but does not realize it yet.

Melissa? She walked into a thrift shop, and she found it. Waiting. Patiently.

She bought it for me. And then she gave it to me.

I love this teapot so much, I took extra pictures of it on my secret-drawer desk, with sparkly little white lights around it.

Not everything gets photographed on my secret-drawer desk. Only very special things.

That is how much I love this teapot.

And then I got a package in the mail from a very lovely shop on Etsy.

It was beautifully packaged. In bright pink tissue paper. And a fleur de lis sticker. With an extra little card tucked in, like those adorable Etsians always do.

Let's take a closer look at that card. I think it has a bunny on it! A bunny who is about to take a ride in a teacup, carried aloft by a hot air balloon. With, um, Marie Antoinette.

Because that's normal.

Inside the packaging was a brightly colored desk calendar featuring a cavalcade of Regency and Victorian prints. Adorb.

I bought that calendar. And I gave it, as you have undoubtedly guessed, to myself.

All in all, it was a pretty swell week for things.
